German label manufacturer Herma is set to adopt a new standard with two multi-layer products, HERMAperfectCut and HERMAperfectTack based on its HERMAperfect technology, effective 1 March 2012.

The two product lines with 62Xpc adhesive and 62Gpt, respectively will replace the current lines based on the 62X and 62G adhesives enabling customers to benefit from product enhancements.

HERMAperfectCut dispersion adhesive is applied in conjunction with a newly developed second layer. Due to this, the film label producers no longer have to make a choice between good adhesive properties and converting quality.

The adhesive ensures less contamination of the die-cutters, improves convertibility and die-cutting results, and enhances machine performance.

With 62Gpt adhesive, HERMAperfectTack offers good tack even in difficult ambient conditions such as moisture and low temperatures and also offers good converting properties.

According to trials carried out by the German test institute ISEGA, the adhesive layer with 62Gpt is suitable for direct contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuffs.

Herma said labels incorporating HERMAperfectTack are suitable for the blow-on process used for labeling at low temperatures. In such applications, labels are attached to often cool and moist substrates contactlessly by air.
